As every year, our company collects donations couple of times per year and gives them out to those in need throughout the whole year. To that end, employees have been unselfishly engaged in not just collecting monetary donations but also finding ways to bring joy to children in need before and during the holiday season.
Employee monetary donations have once again increased as compared to last year’s, and our Company has also once again doubled that amount.
We believe this encourages employees even more because it gives us the opportunity to give donations to more families and associations.
For several years now, part of donations has gone to “Vladimir Nazor”. The main activity of the Center for Community Services “Vladimir Nazor” is the provision of care and education services that include food, clothing, personal hygiene, health, work, school, extra-curricular activities, and other needs of children who aged three to twenty-one who are without proper parental care.
With the help of our exceptionally committed employees, we managed to contact several families in need of donations and presents for their children for the holidays. Couple of employees worked tirelessly on distributing the donations yesterday to these families. All of them were more than happy and grateful for the aid our company has been giving – to some of them couple of years in a row.
We also received letters from several children with their wish lists for holiday presents, and we are both happy and honoured to have taken these presents personally to some of the children whose stories warmed our hearts but left no one indifferent.
Part of donations have also been given to the associations helping Syrian families seeking asylum in Croatia. This year, we contacted the representatives of the Islamic Community in Karlovac, more precisely the main Imam of Majlis in Karlovac – Admir Effendi Muhić. He familiarized us with the situation of Syrian asylants in Karlovac saying that nine families, majority of them with children, came to Croatia accepting the country as their final destination. Luckily, the asylants have been given temporary homes.
However, their situation is still not perfect as all of them are in need of aid. As we prepared the donations yesterday, four of our employees went to the Majlis in Karlovac and met each of the families, gave them the donations. This was a very special opportunity to meet them in person and wish them all the best in their future plans.
The plan for donations doesn’t stop at the end of the year. We will continue to collect and distribute donations throughout the year to those in need.
