Student practice is one of the best ways for organizations to get acquainted with potential future employees, assist their education in practice, and create the good workforce they need.
In order to be competitive in the labor market it is essential for students to have internships before they finish their education. Besides, it is helping the students to approach and meet potential employers, also the practice complements the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge and it teaches them how the actual working environment works in an enterprise.
We at Mercury Processing Services International are currently collaborating with two colleges: The University of Applied Science VERN’ and The Faculty of Organization and Informatics(FOI). Our interns get purposeful work, they learn from a team of experienced people, we nourish a supporting work environment and care about the wellbeing of our team where our interns also benefit from it, because we want them to get the best working experience we can provide.
We believe that young students are our future. It has always been a great pleasure for us to share knowledge with them as well as to offer them work opportunity. Also, we realize small things can make a big difference so a “breath of a fresh air” with new mindsets and positive approach to work, can increase our productivity as well as helping students to get the so much wanted experience in the office. Therefore, we participated on 6th Career week which was held at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, Croatia where we were one of more than 40 companies presenting its work opportunities to young students. We look forward to many more young and aspiring students to join us in the future.
Student opinion matters to us, so take a look what our latest student thinks about her internship at our organization:
“I was always skeptical about the type of assignments I would get during the internship, but here at Mercury Processing International Services I get to work in my studied field. Working here at the organization is great because I manage to combine my theoretical knowledge and practice which will make me a better, more confident and hardworking person. Also, I get to expand and polish my English knowledge which benefits both my professional and personal life.”
Renata Devčić, Head of Marketing Department as mentor, believes that interns challenge “the way we’ve always done it” mentality and bring fresh, new ideas to the company. An internship is a great way to see how much potential a student or recent graduate has in the field. You’ll get to see their skills and work ethic as an intern—and might choose to bring them on as a paid employee down the line.
If you’re an impressive internship supervisor and mentor, your interns will probably talk about their experience with peers, friends and family members, essentially advertising for your organization.
Renata’s impression of her newest intern:
Nina is great! She brings a totally unique vibe into our daily routine. The part that impress me is how she is focused on her tasks, accepts openly feedback and react on it as a long year professional. She is very open in sharing her vision, opinion, standing point but at the same time she is not intrusive. We are all happy to have her in our team.”
By the end of March we expect the arrival of new interns. Our collaboration and student internships continue, so keep up with our news to find more about all of the activities interns will experience at our company.
